Advertisement Cyber smart

Today we Cybersmart with Koka Maria.We learnt about advertisement and what language they use and how they get customers or people to buy it.We also had to pick some images we would share at school or with family and friends.We also made a word art that represented us.We made two one that was for school and one that we would share with friends and family.

Mayor of Gisborne came on an unexpected visit

Today the Mayor of Gisborne came on a very unexpected visit.We were planning to have an open day at the Hamanatua stream.We had to postpone because of bad weather.The mayor(Meng Foon) was really kind to stop by and  visit us.We told   him why we decided to do all these projects.



Who is he?
Meng Foon is the Mayor of Gisborne as you already know.He can speak fluent cantonese,maori,english. He signs all commissions, licenses, and permits granted by legislative authority, as well as other instruments that require his signature under the law.He takes a very important roll as being a mayor for Gisborne.Here is a picture of my class and me with the mayor.

  

Hamantua project

At our school we are focusing on action speaks louder than words we all did a project to do with actions speak louder than words. Me and my team chose to plant some harakeke near the stream .When people are cycling on the footpath and fall over they won't go tumbling in the stream.

Why plant harakeke(Flax) well that's because harakeke are strong and flexible. Which means if someone was riding their bike and fell over the harakeke would bounce back up and no harm would be done.Here are some pictures.

Introducing Me

This week we found out about Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atua.We have been working on our introduction slide,to introduce ourself to Blaketown school in the south island.We made a slide that tells about us.

Horsesome Holiday!

Today we have been doing a slow write based on our holidays. These are the instructions that we used to create our slow write.My slow write is about horse riding in the holidays.

Se1:  Start with the word “woohoo!”

S 2 2:  This sentence must use emotive words.

Se 3:  This sentence must focus on the sense of smell/taste/touch or hearing

Se 4:  Must be a 5 words long.

Se 5:  Must start with an adverb.

Se 6:  This sentence must contain a question mark

Se 7:  start with the word “Although”

S8:  8:This sentence must have 3 adjectives in a list

Se 9: This sentence must start with a “Why is it…” phrase

Se 10 :  This sentence must end with a sound word (onomatopoeia) and an

                      exclamation mark.

 "Woohoo!," it's finally the holidays.I am very excited to have two whole weeks of no school.Ahh the fresh smell of a farm,the sound of a rooster crowing,the feel of the horse's winter coat,yum the taste of a mince and cheese pie.Patiently,I watch Teifi and Jordyn leap over the jumps.When is it going to be my turn?

Although,I had to wait a long time,it was finally my turn to jump.

Oden is the most majestical,amazing,kind,beautiful pony you could ever have.

Why is it that the holidays go so,so fast?
